The Collie is a lithe, strong, responsive, active dog, carrying no useless timber, standing naturally straight and firm.
Collies are loyal and affectionate dogs. They are intelligent and moderately active. A devoted and faithful family dog, the Collie is ideal for homes with children. Due to their tolerant nature, they are also excellent in homes with other dogs.
Though not known for having guard dog tendencies, Collies will alert the family when strangers approach.
The average Collie lives from 12 to 15 years. Dogs are from 24 to 26 inches at the shoulder and weigh from 60 to 75 pounds. Bitches are from 22 to 24 inches at the shoulder, weighing from 50 to 65 pounds.

Moore Collies’ bloodlines go back to the Marnus lines through both Kate and Breannan. The parents of both dogs are all conformation Champions. Breannan and Kate have not shown enough yet to have their Champions, but we are working on it!
We are small breeders, and our dogs are family raised. We are located in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, close to Washington DC and Annapolis.
Our dogs are fed homemade food and are very healthy and fit. Our dogs are bred for good temperaments, soundness, and beauty.

Moore Collies aims to produce healthy, conformationally and mentally sound dogs. In the Collie, temperament is a given, we have never met a mean Collie. However, in some show dogs, head qualities and coat qualities are so sought after that health and body qualities are often ignored. We will NOT breed for head alone. We breed for health first, conformation (the build of the body, which equates to a dog who will live a long life and not go lame) second, and prettiness third. We are fortunate to have had show quality dogs so far, but in our future breedings, we will, again, not breed for looks alone.
